On Dec. 15, it was 1 year ago that I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I can't believe how fast 1 year has gone. When I first got the diagnosis, people said that it would take about 1 year to go through the treatments, routines, etc. I thought that would take forever. Looking back, I can actually say that it wasn't that bad. I always try and remember that there are people out there worse off than I. I count my lucky blessings that I have all the good things in life. I couldn't have done this without my family.
What did I do to mark my 1 year anniversary? We had our Christmas party at the Davenport and Steph and I went to the Spa. It was truly heaven. I couldn't have thought of a better way to mark my anniversary. Thanks Steph for making it that much more special.
I'm doing very well these days. I have my energy back up to normal speed. The only "side effect" that I have from taking the hormone therapy is that my joints feel old. It takes me a minute to get up and get going, but other than that, nothing else.
I go and see the plastic surgeon tomorrow to make sure that we are still on for reconstructive surgery. I am hoping to schedule it sometime in April/May. I can't wait!
Cheers,
Tana
