I went and had my 3 month check up done on Wednesday and I got another clean bill of health. Despite having a cold, all of my blood counts were just fine. She did give me an antibiotic to clear up this cold and she also gave me the green light for the reconstructive surgery. We discussed the possibility of doing a mastectomy on the other side, just so I wouldn't have to go through this journey again, but she said that if it's not broke, don't fix it. Just concentrate on getting the left side fixed and getting healthy again. That is our plan! Just get healthy and going back to a "normal" life again.
I also got some good news from another friend of mine that is going through the journey. She is possibly in remission. She has a few more tests to go through in the next couple of months, but if all tests come back that her levels are way down, they will consider her in remission. This is great news for her and I can't be any happier for her and her family!
On another note, another friend of mine is just about done with her chemo. She only had to have 4 treatments of chemo every 3 weeks and she only has 1 more treatment left to go. I think her next stop will be radiation, which will be a breeze for her (at least I sure hope so).
And my last update on yet another friend is that she is on the road to recovery as well. She has had a mastectomy as well, and is currently doing some PT to get some motion back in her arm.
It's about time that we are all on the "home stretch" of getting better. You get so tired of hearing all of the negative and bad news every time you turn around. It's nice to hear that we are all inching our way back to our "normal" routines again!
Love to each of you!
